My name is Mrs. Haynal. I am so excited to be teaching  your 3rd and 4th grade children new reading and comprehension strategies this school year. I hold a degree in Elementary Education from UNLV. I am also a Project STARS certified reading teacher. I have been teaching 9 years, 4 of those years virtually at NVVA.

When I am not busy teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and two children: Isabella, age 11 and Wyatt, age 7. I am also an avid yogi. It helps keep me balanced!

My favorite children’s book is The Witches by Roald Dahl. He is also my favorite children’s author. He is a legend in my mind. My favorite game is Apples to Apples. My family and I play it frequently.

Mrs. Smith

My name is Mrs. Smith and I am thrilled to be teaching 3rd grade this year. I am super excited to kick off another great year. This will be my seventh year teaching for Nevada Virtual Academy.  I enjoy being a teacher support for our families and students here at NVVA.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree of Science from Dixie State University in St. George, Utah and this is my ninth year teaching.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three silly children. We enjoy traveling, playing board games, and the Great Outdoors!   

My favorite children’s book to read with my children is The Monster at the End of this Book.  My favorite color is blue.  I love to eat Dim Sum Chinese food and Sprinkles Cupcakes.

I look forward to an exciting year with my new 3rd grade students!

My name is Mrs. Trina Linford.  I will be your child’s homeroom teacher.  This is my fourth year with NVVA, and my seventh year teaching.   I received my BSA in Elementary Education with a Minor in Early Childhood from UNLV.   I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 18 years and have three beautiful children.   I live on a ranch in Logandale, Nevada.  On my ranch are many farm animals.  I have 3 goats, 5 cats, 2 dogs, 2 horses, 5 cows, 2 pigs and 14 chickens!   Aside from teaching, I enjoy the outdoors, reading, sewing and playing the piano.  I am excited for the opportunity to teach you this year!

My name is Mr. Meyers and I am very excited about being your third grade teacher!  This is my second year with NVVA and my ninth year teaching.  Before NVVA, I spent one year teaching 5th grade and six years teaching 3rd grade for CCSD.

I received my undergraduate degree in Math/Science/Technology from St. John Fisher College located in Rochester, New York.   I then went on to UNLV to receive my master’s degree in Educational Technology.

I am happily married to my wife Erica and a proud father to my son, Jayden.  My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, mountain bike, and cheer on the Buffalo Bills. 

A few other tidbits about me are that I love reading Dr. Seuss books to my son, my favorite color is green, and being from Buffalo, my favorite food...chicken wings! 

Mrs. Bailey

My name is Mrs. Bailey and I’m excited to be teaching 3rd grade at Nevada Virtual Academy! This is my second year with NVVA.

Last year I was a substitute teacher and worked with 1st, 2nd, 6th and 8th graders. This will be my first year teaching 3rd grade.

I love working with kids and have always wanted to be a teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s degree last year from Western Governors University.

When I’m not teaching, I’m spending time with my husband and 5 crazy kids. We like to go on bike rides, play games and watch movies together.

My favorite children’s book is Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. My favorite color is purple and my favorite foods are chocolate chip cookies and Ben and Jerry’s half-baked ice cream!
